Out for the summer!

Tuesday at 10:30 I started my last final of the semester…By 11, I was done with the final and I couldn’t be happier that my semester is finally over!!!!  It’s been a long, stressful year and I don’t think I could ever explain to anybody how hard it has been on me to be away from Travis so much.  I’ve missed him like crazy, and our time together has been far and few between.  While I’ve seen Travis ever weekend, I have hated that I was stuck here so much by school and work that I wasn’t able to spend a lot of special times with him.  Right now, even though I’ve been done with finals since Tuesday, I don’t get to come home for good until Sunday.  Yes, I know, it’s only 5 days, but Travis and I could have lots of wonderful moments together between Tuesday and Sunday.
Well, I hope to be seeing all of you in a few weeks at the most special day of my life-The day I become Mrs. Jerry Travis Smith!  Until then, I’m off to pack up for going home on Sunday and enjoying life with absolutely nothing to do!

One month till the wedding!

Hey everybody!
I woke up this morning to Travis calling me, and my first thought was : It’s one month until the wedding!  In exactly one month, May 27th, I will be Mrs. Jerry "Travis" Smith, and I can not wait until the big day gets here!

Everybody remember to RSVP to the wedding by May 10th if you plan on attending!  We look forward to seeing you there!!!

Motel rooms for the wedding…

Hey everyone!  I’ve heard that rooms are going quickly in the area surrounding our wedding because it’s Memorial day weekend.  But, don’t let that stop you from attending the wedding!  We’d love to have you there, and we’ll find shelter for you somewhere if you need it!!

Tech Tips

My Favorite Firefox Extensions

I’ve been using Mozilla Firefox since version 0.8. I love it. It’s perhaps the best thing to happen to the Internet since Netscape 3.  One of the things I love about Firefox is that it is extensible. You can download hundreds of custom modifications to make Firefox tick just as you want.  Below is a list of the extensions I automatically install on every computer I plan on using for any length of time:

  • Web Developer Toolbar — An indespensible list to allow you to inspect any and every aspect of a webpage and its contents.  It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen for debugging CSS and DHTML code.
  • Tab X — Adds a close button to the corner of each open tab. Some people don’t like this, but I think it makes cleaning up a bunch of open web pages very easy.
  • Colorful Tabs — Makes sorting through tabs very easy, thanks to the soothing colors it assigns each tab.
  • Live HTTP Headers — Shows you exactly what’s being sent to the server. A web designers delight! I used it to debug a Smoothwall box just the other day!

If you don’t already have Firefox, get it now! You’ll be surfing faster and safer!

Wedding Website

I can’t believe it, but I actually forgot to post a link to the wedding website.  So, here it is.  I am honestly very excited about marrying my favorite person in the whole world. With Becca, everything is brighter and more fun. What else can I say…

It’s getting closer!!!

Hey everybody!  Thanks for visiting jerrytravis.com/wedding!  Feel free to e-mail me or Travis, or call the numbers listed above if you have any questions or concerns!  While you’re welcome to send in the paper RSVP card you received with your invitation, RSVPing online is simple and will save a stamp!!  The decision, though, is completely up to you, we just look forward to seeing you there!  The wedding is now less than 1 1/2 months away!  While I’m a little nervous and stress about getting everything done, I can’t wait to the big day!

Far away from home…and busy!

Hey everybody, Travis is in Louisville for the next 2 days with Breathitt County ATC FBLA for state competition.  Which, in short translation, means that I have only spoken to him for a total of like, 2 minutes tonight.  For those of you have heard Trav gripe, you know that I love talking to him…a lot.  So, this has been a very stressful day for me, and it won’t end until Thursday.  And then it’s "My Name is Earl and The Office" night, so I feel like I may never talk to Travis again…It’s a sad life!  On the other hand,  I have gotten a lot accomplished since he’s been gone and while he was preparing to be gone.  But, I’d much rather have him than accomplish  stuff any day!!!  Anyway, I love you baby and I’m thinking about you!!!!

Luckiest Man in the World!

My great uncle Bill passed way on Tuesday, and I’ve been really stressed out about it.  He was more like my grandpa than an uncle, so I’ve taken it hard.

Once again, Becca has proven why she’s the girl I should marry and no one else.  She literally ditched three classes and skipped a test so she could come get me through this difficult time.  I would like to thank her so much.
