Grassroots Photography

When I was a RA at the University of Kentucky from August 2005 to May 2006 I met lots of people and got to experience lots of new things.  One of those people in particular was one of the most energetic, fun-loving, goal-driven people I’ve ever met in my life.  As a freshman at UK in the fall of 2005, Christina Layton came to Jewell as a quiet, polite young lady from a small town in Northern Kentucky…That did not last long!  Soon after the semester started Christina met lots of new people and quickly became a smiling, positive aspect to the worst place I’ve ever lived!  Christina soon became one of my good friends and a wonderful resident to have on my floor, always participating in events and floor meetings and being very active in Campus life in general, and soon learning more about Trav and I than she ever wanted too ;).  To sum her up, Christina is just an all around good girl who I’d recommend for any thing she attempted.
You may be wondering why I’ve gone on for so long about this girl none of you know!  Well, it’s because Christina has decided to take the chance of running her own photography business and I want to help her succeed as much as possible.  Even though we don’t get to talk a lot anymore, I know that Christina is just as dedicated to her photography as she is UK and I’d like to let everyone who visits this site know how to get some great pics taken!  Visit Christina’s website at http://www.grassrootsphotos.com (or click the link in the special offers section to the right) to see what a great photographer she is, and please feel free to let me know if you need more information about Christina, or her fiance Jeff Gora, who made Christina’s website his first as a programmer!

Isn’t It Ironic…

Isn’t it funny how easily we are forgotten when other’s come into our significant other’s lives?  I was just thinking about how Trav deserted me today for Jeremy and I am sad.  P.S.  I’m totally BSing!!  Hi to Jeremy and I love you Trav!

Personal Updates

5 Months and counting

I’m not really sure that any one ever comes to this site anymore, because the wedding is a thing of the past.  But, I’m at work and bored and so I thought I’d update the few who do!  Yesterday, Trav and I celebrated our 5 month wedding anniversary.  He was so sweet!!  After he left for work, Trav called me back at the house to wish me a Happy Anniversary and to tell me he loved me.  Then, after he got off work, he surprised me with flowers-5 of the most beautiful long stem red roses I’ve ever seen with baby’s breath, greenery and a beautiful red vase.  Now, I’ll give Trav the credit that he’s never miss a "month anniversary" since we’ve been together, but usually we just tell each other "Happy Anniversary" and move on with our business.  Trav really blew it over the top this month, and I LOVED it!!  It made me feel so special.  It’s easy to forget the special, sweet things that should happen when you’re living together and experiencing all of the morning breath, dirty laundry and slouchy days.  But, yesterday Trav proved to me that no matter what, he’s a romantic at .  What can I say… I buy him a red stapler and 4 days later, I get red roses.  Isn’t life ironic, don’t you think??

Just so you know… :)

I will always love you, no matter where I am going or where I have been. I know that the next year is going to be hard on both of us, but I want you to know that I will always been there for you when you need me, no matter where I am. You are the best thing that God ever let happen to me, and I wouldn’t trade you for anything in the world. I love you so much and the only way that will change is that my love for you grows more and more each day. Together, we can conquer anything, and hey, it’s only Lexington! Whip it’s butt, Frodo!

Happy Anniversary to us!!

Well, It’s official!  Travis has managed to put up with me for 1 whole month!  In two hours, it will be our official 1 month anniversary!  We’ve had fun for the last month, but it’s been a very busy time!  For those of you who sent cards and gifts, but never received a thank-you, it will be there soon, I promise!  Things are about to settle down, so I should have time to do them now!!

Just checkin’ in

Hey Everyone!  I just wanted to check in with everybody since it’s been forever since I posted on here.  Blogging on here used to be my pasttime, but since school went out me and the dial-up haven’t been getting along so good!  While it was the most stressful thing I’ve ever been through, the wedding on May 27th was so beautiful and it was worth it all.  Things have finally began to slow down with that, but there’s still so much to do as a couple now.  There’s been family reunions, graduations, family visits…You name it, we’ve done it.  It’s been a busy time, but I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else besides Trav!  Well, I’d better get back to work now, before I get in trouble!!  Sincerely, Mrs. Jerry Travis Smith

Only 2 days left

Well, there’s only 2 days until the wedding and still so much to do!  Trav is working on our music and the slideshow that will be played before the ceremony.  I’m getting ready to do some laundry, and pack for the honeymoon!  Tonight, I get my flowers and tomorrow will be full of running around!  To the wedding party:  Don’t forget that rehearsal is at 6, so try and get there a few minutes before then!!!  Until Saturday, everyone have a calm rest of the week…somebody needs to and it’s not going to be me!!!!

Out for the summer!

Tuesday at 10:30 I started my last final of the semester…By 11, I was done with the final and I couldn’t be happier that my semester is finally over!!!!  It’s been a long, stressful year and I don’t think I could ever explain to anybody how hard it has been on me to be away from Travis so much.  I’ve missed him like crazy, and our time together has been far and few between.  While I’ve seen Travis ever weekend, I have hated that I was stuck here so much by school and work that I wasn’t able to spend a lot of special times with him.  Right now, even though I’ve been done with finals since Tuesday, I don’t get to come home for good until Sunday.  Yes, I know, it’s only 5 days, but Travis and I could have lots of wonderful moments together between Tuesday and Sunday.
Well, I hope to be seeing all of you in a few weeks at the most special day of my life-The day I become Mrs. Jerry Travis Smith!  Until then, I’m off to pack up for going home on Sunday and enjoying life with absolutely nothing to do!
